"Tia’s visit was engaging and thought provoking. Since her visit I have spoken to a number of Year 8 pupils who have been reading the book, which highlights its success.

Tia was so warm with all the pupils, chatting as they came into the hall and then intriguing them, first with her life-story and then with the verse novel written out of difficult circumstances. There was lots of engagement and fun to counter the serious side of the county lines content, our community police officer, English teachers and Head of Year were really pleased with the session too.

Tia also led a creative writing lesson where the pupils began their own shape poems; there was some great work taking place and I hope they will continue to develop them at home.”
