Welcome...
I’m an author from south-east England, writing from middle-grade to YA in prose and verse. I love exploring important issues: writing gritty, realistic fiction for young people; accessible fiction that opens conversations.
Operation Doodlebug is my debut middle grade historical novel. Set in 1944 during the V1 raids, it's a wartime story of friendship and courage . . . and one boy's heart-wrenching quest for the truth.
"A future classic" says The Bookseller.
Not Going to Plan is an intensely topical, accessible YA verse novel that wades into the muddy waters of coercion and consent. It was shortlisted for Carnegie Medal 2026 and is currently longlisted for the UKLA awards. The audiobook is currently shortlisted for the British Audio Awards.
Crossing the Line is my debut, a teen verse novel about a boy who gets caught up in county lines drug exploitation. It won the 2024 Carnegie Shadowers’ Medal, the 2024 UKLA prize, was in the 2024 Read for Empathy collection and was one of The Times and Sunday Times’ best children’s books of 2024.
